HR Generalist


Kenson Plastics is a family-owned business that has been manufacturing and assembling custom-made, precision pressure-formed plastics since 1972. We specialize in engineered plastic components and enclosures and provide solutions across a multitude of markets. 


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team in our Beaver Falls, PA location. This will be a fully onsite position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Human Resources and Administrative support for our facility and staff by overseeing and managing all human resources functions, implementing administrative systems, procedures, policies, and handling a variety of office functions.


  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and manage employee benefits administration, including the enrollment process, annual open enrollment, change and termination reporting, monitoring and auditing of benefits invoices, communication of information to employees, and fielding employee questions regarding benefits.
  • Proactively make performance management a part of the ongoing culture; including training, communication, performance improvement plans, development, and guidance as needed.
  • Process biweekly payroll and generate associated reports as needed.
  • Provide guidance to employees by interpreting policies and promptly responding to employee relations matters and questions.
  • Manage unemployment claims, workers’ compensation, and OSHA logs.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs.
  • Oversee recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process and office management improvements.
  • Perform administrative duties, which may include accounts payable/receivable support, reconciliations, and ordering of office supplies.
  • Act as the main point of contact for visitors to ensure a warm and friendly experience for anyone coming into the office.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, mail, and deliveries and direct to the appropriate individual.
  • Additional duties as required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar role
  • PHR or SHRM designation a plus but not required
  • Experience with and understanding of human resources principals, practices, and procedures
  • Prior experience processing payroll preferred
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with online, cloud-based platforms
  • Experience in a union environment a plus but not required
  • A driven, self-starter with a get it done attitude, regardless of the task
  • Strong time-management, organization, and people skills, flexibility, and multitasking ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees and vendors
  • A high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly
